Information About Dog Licensing
Dog Licensing

The license period for all dogs runs from January 1st to December 31st of each calendar year.  All dog owners in Newbury must obtain a license for their dog by January 1st and license will be valid for the entire calendar year.  Dogs not licensed for the calendar year will be assessed a late fee as of February 1st.

Licenses for each upcoming calendar year are typoically available for purchase by December 1st at the Town Clerk's office during regular Town Hall business hours (M, W, Th. 8:00 A.M. - 4:00 P.M. and Tues. 8:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M.).

To assist with expediting the process, dog owners can click on the link below and complete the interactive application. Either mail (with return postage) or bring this completed application to the Town Clerk with the appropriate fee and verification of current rabies vaccination and your pets license will be processed very quickly.  Licenses may also be obtained at the Newbury Police Department 24/7.  Check payments should be made payable to the Town of Newbury.
